Hi and welcome to my review of the new for 2019 from Go Outdoors, the Hi Gear Vanguard 6 & 8-person tent review.
As this tent comes in 2 sizes – 6-person and 8-person I thought I would review both together as it is only the dimensions of the tents that change.

This is another fantastic family tent from Hi-Gear. With its shaped galvanized steel poles meaning it not only is a solid standing tent but that it also allows addition standing room that you do not always get with a fibreglass pole system.
This is a very spacious family tent that will not only provide you with great shelter on weekend camps but also longer camps. With large panoramic windows for both great views of your location and to easily watch the kiddies while you spend time relaxing there is much to love about this tent.
There are 2 large bedrooms to the rear of the tent, and they are made with Hi Gears Eclipse material meaning that it blocks out light and keeps the bedrooms cooler in summer and cosier during cold, wet and windy camps. The flysheet that covers the bedroom area has also been designed to give an extra 2000mm HH over the bedroom area from extra protection.
The living area is very spacious with full panoramic windows to let the light flood in and give you full views of your surroundings. With light hanging points and 2 cable entry also makes this area versatile to different setups. All windows have privacy curtains for those early mornings and cosy nights where you want to just be by yourselves. These toggle away when not in use
2 large doors provide you with optional entry points to the tent depending on set up and have an integrated fly mesh to allow you to have the door open and still keep the bugs out.
Tent skirt (bottom of flysheet) can be pegged out to ensure that any rain or water runs away from the tent
|Structure||The tent has 4 pre-shaped stainless-steel poles. These allow additional height at the side of the tent. Poles have hi rust resistance.|
|Guy Lines||The tent comes with pre-attached guy lines which helps to steady the tent in bad weather conditions.|
|Fabrics||The tent is made of a polyester 6000 HH flysheet, 8000 HH over the bedroom area. The tent also has a fully sewn-in groundsheet.|
|Cable Entry||The Vanguard has 2 cable entry points.|
|Windows||This tent has 7 panoramic windows on 3 sides of the tent letting light flood in and giving you the best views possible. All windows have privacy curtains and these can be toggled away when not in use.|
|Doors||The Vanguard has 2 doors. One large door at the front of the tent and one at the side.|
|Ventilation||Lots of ventilation throughout the tent, most are above the large windows and these can be kept open using the Velcro tabs provided. There are 5 vents in total.|
|Bedrooms||The tent has 2 x 4-person bedrooms to the rear of the tent. Bedrooms are made from Hi Gears eclipse material. This means dark sleeping areas no matter what time of day or night it is. This also helps with temperatures, keeping them cool on hot days and warmer on cold nights.|
|Living Area||The Vanguard has a very spacious living area with a full panoramic view due to windows. Light hanging point.|
Optional Extras: these tents have both footprints and carpets as optional extras and can be purchased a little cheaper if you buy as a bundle with the tent.

A fantastic family tent that will allow plenty of room for everyone. Gives fantastic views of surroundings and great value for money. With footprints and carpets made specifically for these tents, everything fits just perfect to give a warm homely feel.
I love the fact that the flysheet has an extra 2000HH over the bedroom areas. This gives great peace of mind for during the night, especially in adverse weather, which means you never need to lose any sleep over whether you will get wet or not.
